Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Small Yellow Onions
- 1/4-Inch Slices
- 2 Green Bell Peppers
- 1/4-Inch Slices
- 1- 1/2 pound Chicken Breast
- Cut Into Tenders
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
- 6 Hoagie Rolls
- 6 slices Pepper Jack Cheese
Instructions
- 1.
- Layer the bottom of the slow cooker crock with butter, onions, peppers, and chicken.
- Sprinkle the top with the seasonings.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- 2.
- Thirty minutes prior to serving, simply shred the chicken with 2 forks and allow to soak in the juices.
- 3.
- Slice the rolls in half and toast in the oven using the broiler.
- Place chicken filling onto the roll, allowing some of the juices to drain off (otherwise you get a really soggy sandwich).
- Top with cheese.
- 4.
- Place back under the broiler for 30-60 seconds, watching closely, to melt the cheese.
- 5.
- Serve with plenty of napkins.
