Ingredients
- 600 grams white fish fillets
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 200 grams chickpea / gram flour
- 1/2 bunch fresh coriander
- finely chopped
- 1 green chilli
- deseeded if desired and finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 200 ml water
- 1 oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Cut the fish into bitesize pieces and toss gently in the lemon juice to marinate
- Mix the flour, coriander, chilli, salt and turmeric in a bowl and add the water to make into a batter
- Coat the fish in the batter and let sit for 15 minutes
- Meanwhile, heat the oil to deep fry the fish, a medium heat is good.
- Fry the pieces until golden brown, around 5 minutes
- Remove the fish and let drain on kitchen towel.
- Pat off any excess oil.
- Nice served on a bed of lettuce with lemon wedges
