Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) can Del Monte Canned Pears in Heavy Syrup or Del Monte Lite Sliced Pears
  • 2 3/4 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • toasted*
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup fresh red raspberries
  • Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Drain canned pears, reserving syrup.
  2. Chop the pear slices.
  3. Bring water, drained syrup from canned pears and salt to a boil over medium-high heat in a medium saucepan.
  4. Stir in oats; reduce heat.
  5. Cook, uncovered, for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove pan from heat.
  7. Stir in almonds, cinnamon and vanilla.
  8. Cover and let stand for 2 to 3 minutes to reach desired consistency.
  9. To serve, top each serving with chopped canned pears and raspberries.
  10. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
