Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1-1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Candied cherries
Instructions
- Put the egg whites, sugar, and lemon juice into the top part of double boiler, and beat over boiling water from 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the range and add the nuts.
- Drop from a spoon onto a greased baking sheet in round mounds.
- Parchment paper is good to use for this recipe if you have available (grease paper).
- Press a candied cherry into the center of each macaroon.
- Bake in slow oven (300F) until set and delicately browned.
