The Turkey's Wattle

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
• preferably Wild Turkey Rye 101 proof
• 3/4 teaspoon St. Elizabeth allspice dram (rum-based allspice liqueur)
• 1 ounce chilled apple cider
• 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
• Two 6-inch strips of orange zest
• Ice
• 2 ounces chilled ginger beer

Instructions

1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, allspice dram, cider, Simple Syrup and 1 of the orange zest strips.
2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well, then strain into a chilled ice-filled collins glass.
3. Stir in the ginger beer and garnish with the remaining strip of orange zest.
