Sweet and Sour Onions With Balsamic Vinegar

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs small onion
  • ends removed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 14 cup balsamic vinegar (regular flavor)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Cook onions in boiling water for about 3 minutes.
  3. Drain onions and peel them.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add onions and season with salt.
  7. Cook until onions are lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  8. Add the sugar and balsamic vinegar.
  9. Cook another 2 minutes.
  10. Serve hot.
