Spiced Apple Sauce Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

• 1/2 c. shortening
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking pwdr
• 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/4 tsp. grnd cloves
• 1/2 tsp. grnd cinnamon
• 1 c. unsweetened applesauce

Instructions

1. Cream together the shortening and sugar.
2. Add in egg; mix thoroughly.
3. Sift flour, then measure.
4. Sift measured flour with salt, baking soda, baking pwdr, and spices.
5. Add in dry ingredients to creamed shortening and sugar, alternating with applesauce, then dry ingredients, etc, till all is combined.
6. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets and bake in a preheated 375
