Soy-Ginger Steaming Liquid

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sherry
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger (unpeeled)
  • 4 large cloves garlic
  • coarsely chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Combine the soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic and water in the bottom of the steaming equipment.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Begin steaming.
  5. Add boiling water if too much of the liquid evaporates before cooking is complete.
