Ingredients

  • 1 med. cabbage
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • minced
  • 1/2 c. onion
  • minced
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 3/4 c. cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cut cabbage in wedges; steam till tender.
  2. Drain well.
  3. Place in long baking dish.
  4. Saute/fry pepper and onion in butter.
  5. Add in flour, stirring constantly.
  6. Gradually add in lowfat milk.
  7. Cook slowly, stirring constantly, till thickened.
  8. Stir in salt and pepper.
  9. Pour over cabbage.
  10. Bake 20 min at 375 degrees.
  11. Mix mayonnaise and cheese; spread over cabbage.
  12. Bake 10 min more.
