Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs. sirloin
  • cubed (1 inch)
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • chopped
  • 3/4 pound fresh mushrooms
  • sliced
  • 1/3 c. beef broth or possibly water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Brown meat in butter and oil; add in garlic, after browning remove to casserole dish; saute/fry mushrooms and add in to meat.
  2. Cover, bake slowly at 275 degrees for 1 hour.
  3. Meanwhile, add in broth and soy sauce to the pan in that the meat was browned.
  4. Boil, stirring up the brownings till reduced to a glaze.
  5. Blend the mustard, cornstarch, and cream.
  6. Add in to the pan - boil till thick.
  7. Pour off juices from meat into the pan.
  8. Boil, whisking till smooth and thick.
  9. Blend with the meat.
  10. Good served with warm rice.
