Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lbs. sirloin
- cubed (1 inch)
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 clove garlic
- chopped
- 3/4 pound fresh mushrooms
- sliced
- 1/3 c. beef broth or possibly water
- 1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 c. whipping cream
Instructions
- Brown meat in butter and oil; add in garlic, after browning remove to casserole dish; saute/fry mushrooms and add in to meat.
- Cover, bake slowly at 275 degrees for 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, add in broth and soy sauce to the pan in that the meat was browned.
- Boil, stirring up the brownings till reduced to a glaze.
- Blend the mustard, cornstarch, and cream.
- Add in to the pan - boil till thick.
- Pour off juices from meat into the pan.
- Boil, whisking till smooth and thick.
- Blend with the meat.
- Good served with warm rice.
