Pork Chops Baked in Orange Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 thick pork loin chops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • chopped
  • 14 cup celery
  • chopped
  • 1 pinch thyme
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • oil for browning sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small amount of oil, brown chops on both sides, allowing about 10 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer to greased medium casserole.
  4. In a minimum amount of the fat left from the chops, brown onions and celery.
  5. Turn onto chops.
  6. Combine thyme, orange juice and wine vinegar; sprinkle over chops in casserole, cover and bake at 350* 50-60 minutes or until meat is tender.
  7. Remove cover for last 10 minutes; thicken sauce.
