Pickled Glossy Beets Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- Oil cloves & oil cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon each
Instructions
- If not strong sufficient, use more.
- This is what makes them glossy.
- No salt.
- Boil beets till tender.
- Cold, slip off the skins and quarter.
- Boil the syrup for 10 to 15 min.
- Then drop the quartered beets, into the syrup and bring to boil.
- Pack in jars and seal.
