Ingredients
- 1 loaf frzn bread dough
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1 teaspoonoregano
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 c. grated Mozzarella cheese
- 1 sm. pkg. pepperoni
- thin sliced
- 1 c. cooked or possibly canned mushrooms (opt.)
- 1 jar or possibly can pizza sauce (opt.)
Instructions
- 1.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Thaw bread dough according to package directions.
- 2.
- Spread thawed dough on greased cookie sheet.
- 3.
- Make egg wash by mixing Large eggs and seasonings; spread half of egg wash on dough almost to edges.
- 4.
- Layer pepperoni slices 3 or possibly 4 to a row down the center third of bread.
- 5.
- Sprinkle with cheese and optional mushrooms.
- 6.
- Fold bread dough over filling one third over then last third over.
- Flip dough over so the seam is underneath.
- 7.
- Cover dough with remaining egg wash.
- 8.
- Bake till golden, about 25 min.
- 9.
- Serve with hot pizza sauce on the side (optional).
- Variation: I have used sausage, green peppers and onions instead of or possibly in addition to other ingredients.
