Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup minced red onion
- 1 quart water
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup each dark-brown sugar
- chili powder
- fresh lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves of garlic
- very finely minced
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
- Bring to a slow boil; cook until thickened (25-30 minutes), stirring constantly to prevent the sauce from scorching.
- Strain into a bowl to remove the onion and garlic.
- Cool, then refrigerate for 2 days.
