Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef Or Turkey
- 1 Medium Yellow Onion
- Chopped
- 2 cans (14 1/2 Oz. Size) Stewed Tomatoes
- 12 ounces
- weight Elbow Noodles
- 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Seasoned Salt
- 1 jar (16 Oz. Size) Spaghetti Sauce
- 2 cups Grated Cheese
Instructions
- In a large pan over medium heat, brown the meat, stirring to break it up as it cooks.
- Once meat starts to cook, add onion.
- Cook until onion is soft then add the stewed tomatoes.
- Leave this on medium so the tomatoes can cook down.
- Now you can start the noodles.
- Cook them according to package instructions for al dente.
- They will absorb some of the moisture from the meat mix if they are overcooked, so al dente is best.
- Now that your noodles are cooking, get back to the tomato/hamburger mixture.
- Add seasonings and stir to combine.
- Let it just cook away until the noodles are done.
- Drain the noodles when done.
- Remove meat mixture from heat and add spaghetti sauce.
- It really is better if you use homemade but if you have to buy it I love the kind with the veggie chunks mixed in.
- Mix the noodles and meat mixture together and let it cool down just a bit.
- Then you can add as much or as little grated cheese as you would like.
- Keep in mind, if you add the cheese when its too hot it will get stringy.
