Ingredients
- 3 -4 large onions
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 (19 ounce) can green lentils
- 18 cup olive oil
- 34 teaspoon allspice
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 teaspoon cumin
Instructions
- Slice onions and add to skillet along with olive oil.
- Caramelize Onions.
- Remove 3/4 of your onions and continue to cook remaining onions until they start to get black and crispy.
- Remove remainder of onions and add rice to skillet.
- Cook rice for 3 minutes or until it is mostly translucent.
- Return onions to skillet along with the remaining ingredients.
- Simmer on low-medium heat for 20 mins or until rice is tender and the broth is absorbed.
