Meat Balls With Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 small onions
  • chopped fine
  • 3 tbsp chopped parsley and mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • seperated
  • 2 lemons
  • juiced

Instructions

  1. Knead meat, onion, salt, pepper, rice thoroughly
  2. Shape into round balls and sprinkle with flour
  3. Bring water to boil in saucepan with little salt; add meatballs and oil and simmer for about 40 min
  4. Seperate eggs and beat whites until they form peaks; fold in yolks which have been beaten separately with lemon juice
  5. Remove pan with meatballs, temper egg mixture with hot broth and then pour over meatballs
  6. Serve hot
