Ingredients
- 350 grams self raising flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 85 grams cold cubed butter
- 175 ml milk
- 100 grams grated cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg beaten to glaze
- 1 as needed flour to roll dough on
Instructions
- Heat oven to 200C/400F
- Place flour, baking powder,salt and butter in a mixing bowl and rub together with your fingers until it resembles sand
- Add cheese mix well .
- Create a well in flour and add milk ,bring the mix together into a dough add more milk if needed.
- On a clean work surface dust with flour add dough and roll out to 4cm thick.
- Using a 5cm cookie cutter cut out scones until all the dough is used up ,place on a baking sheet and glaze with beaten egg.
- Bake for 10 minutes on the middle shelf of the oven .remove and allow to cool slightly then dive in .
