Ingredients
- 1 White rice
- 1 Egg
- 1 pinch Katakuriko (optional)
- 1 Vegetable oil
- 1 Nori seaweed
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Ham
- sakura denbu or ketchup
Instructions
- Wrap up the rice tightly in plastic wrap and squish it into a round shape.
- You will be wrapping up Sally with an egg crepe, so if you mix her rice with ketchup, it's even more delicious!
- Heat up some oil in a frying pan and, mix the beaten egg with a pinch of katakuriko, and make 1 egg crepe.
- Wrap the egg crepe around the rice ball for Sally
- Cut a slice of carrot about 2.3 mm thick.
- Put it into a plastic bag with a bit of water and heat in the microwave for 1.5 minutes.
- Use a long oblong cutter to cut out a piece of the carrot.
- Use scissors to cut out facial features from the nori seaweed.
- Put on top of the still-wrapped rice balls to check the sizing.
- Remove the plastic wrap, place the facial features on, and position the rice balls in the bento box to finish.
- This time, I used sakura denbu for Moon's cheeks.
- You can assemble the faces the night before and wrap lightly in plastic.
- In the morning, just microwave and pack into the bento box.
