Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (divided in half)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- packed
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 teaspoon nutmeg
- 18 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (I use canned)
- 12 cup whole milk
- 2 whole eggs
- 13 cup shortening
- 12 walnuts
- chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a large mixing bowl combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, nutmeg and ginger.
- in the same bowl add pumpkin, milk, eggs and shortening.
- Mix until blended add the other cup of flour and mix until blended.
- If you are using walnuts fold them in now.
- Put the bread mis in a 9-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350F degrees for an hour or until a fork inserted into the middle comes out clean.
