Ingredients
- 2 lb country style pork ribs
- 1 small onion
- chopped
- 1 15 ounce can navy beans
- drained and rinsed
- 1 15 ounce can dark red kidney beans
- drained and rinsed
- 1 14.5 ounce can italian style diced tomatoes
- 6 minced cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1 tsp pepper
- 3/4 can of water using tomato can
Instructions
- THIS RECIPE CAN GO IN A SLOW COOKER OR STOVE TOP DUTCH OVEN.
- Trim any excess fat from ribs
- Place all ingredients into slow cooker.
- Set to low and cook 9 hours or high and cook 5 hours.
- For dutch oven, brown ribs on both sides.
- Add all your ingredients but use one full can of water, and cook on medium high until it comes to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 2 hours, checking every 20 minutes to see if you need to add any water.
- When adding water for dutch oven use hot water.
- This keeps temperatures steady.
