Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 8-inch pie shell
- 12 cup butter (normal temperature)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- separated
- 1 12 teaspoons white cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 dash salt
Instructions
- Bake pie shell in very hot oven (450 degrees F) for 10 minutes.
- Cream butter, sugar, egg yolks, add corn meal mixed with cream and vanilla.
- Fold in beaten white.
- Pour into shell and bake 10-12 minutes.
- If top browns before filling is set, put a heavy piece of brown paper or foil over top and complete baking.
- Serve slightly warm.
