Instructions
HEAT the oil in a large saucepan and cook the meat for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add the onion, carrot, parsnip, celery and herbs.
Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the vegetables have softened.
SPRINKLE over the flour and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
Add the MY FIRST VEGEMITE, tomato sauce, water and lentils.
Cover the pan and simmer gently for 1 hour or until the lentils are cooked and soft.
Stir in the peas and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
Spoon onto serving plates with mash.
Serve immediately.
HANDY TIP: For an alternative serving suggestion for children, serve beef braise in a scooped out bread roll.
Also, try serving the braise topped with mashed potato, similar to a shepherds pie.
