Grilled California Turkey Bistro Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • peeled
  • seeded
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons garlic-flavored mayonnaise or mayonnaise
  • 8 (about 5x4 inch) slices (1/2-inch thick) Vienna or Tuscan bread
  • 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter
  • softened
  • 8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli American or Muenster Cheese
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced deli peppered turkey
  • 8 slices crisply cooked bacon

Instructions

  1. Mash avocado in small bowl with fork; stir in onion and garlic mayonnaise; set aside.
  2. To assemble sandwiches, spread 1 side of each bread slice with 3/4 teaspoon softened butter.
  3. Evenly spread avocado mixture over 4 bread slices, buttered-side down.
  4. Top each with 1 slice cheese, 1/4 turkey, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice cheese and 1 slice bread, buttered-side up.
  5. Heat 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Place 2 sandwiches into skillet.
  7. Cook, turning once, 4-6 minutes or until sandwiches are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Keep warm; repeat with remaining sandwiches.
  9. Cut each sandwich in half; serve immediately.
