Ingredients
- 1 pound Hamburger
- 1/2 cups Dry Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 cups Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Onion
- finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- Packed
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
- 13 ounces
- weight Pineapple Chunks (canned)
- With Syrup
- 13 cups Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1 whole (bell) Green Pepper
- Small
- Coarsely Chopped
- 4 cups Cooked Rice
Instructions
- Mix first seven (7) ingredients; shape into 20- 1 1/2 inch balls.
- Cook over medium heat, turning occasionally, until brown (about 20 minutes).
- Or, cook in an ungreased oblong pan (13x9x2) in a 400 degree oven until lightly brown, about 20-25 minutes.
- Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in a skillet.
- Stir in pineapple with syrup, vinegar and soy sauce.
- Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; reduce heat.
- Add cooked meatballs.
- Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes.
- Stir in green pepper.
- Cover; simmer until crisp-tender, approximately 5 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
