• 1 c. boiling water
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 pound dates
• minced
• 1 c. sugar
• 2 tbsp. butter
• 1 1/2 c. flour
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 c. nuts
