  • 500 ml SELF RAISING FLOUR
  • 50 ml SUGAR
  • 100 ml BUTTER
  • 125 ml BUTTEMILK
  • 1 EGG

Instructions

  1. SIFT FLOUR IN A BOWL.
  2. ADD SUGAR
  3. RUB IN THE BUTTER UNTIL THE MIXTURE RESEMBLES BREADCRUMBS
  4. COMBINE THE BUTTERMILK AND EGG AND ADD TO THE DRY INGERDIENTS WITH ENOUGH MILK TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH
  5. TURN ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE AND KNEED GENTLY
  6. ROLL OUT ABOUT 2CM THICK AND CUT WITH 6CM DIAMETER ROUND CUTTER.
  7. PLACE ON A GREASED BAKING TRAY AND BRUSH WITH EGG GLAZE
  8. BAKE FOR 15-20 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
  9. REMOVE AND COOL.
  10. SERVE WITH CREAM AND JAM
