Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 34 cup granulated sugar
- 14 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 cup cocoa
- 1 34 cups hot water
- ice cream
Instructions
- Mix flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt in an ungreased square pan, 9x9x2-inch.
- Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth.
- Stir in nuts.
- Spread in pan.
- Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup cocoa.
- Pour hot water over batter.
- Bake 40 minutes at 350F
- While warm, spoon into dessert dishes and top with ice cream.
- Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving.
- VARIATIONS;.
- Crunchy Candy Cake: Substitute 1/3 cup of taffy bits or 1/3 cup of candy coated chocolate for the nuts.
- Mallow Sundae Cake: Sutstitute 1 cup miniature marshmallows for the nuts.
