Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 (20 ounce.) can sweet cherries or possibly cling peaches in heavy syrup (use pitted cherries)
- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- Dash salt
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat butter in 8 x 11 pan on top of stove.
- In mixing bowl combine flour, 1/2 c. sugar (put 1/4 c. sugar to side for later), baking pwdr, salt and lowfat milk.
- Pour flour mix into pan, over butter/butter.
- Take a spoon and spread the flour mix proportionately in pan.
- Add in cherries (or possibly peaches) including the juice; spread proportionately.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top and put in oven.
- Bake for 1 hour or possibly till golden.
- Serves 6 to 8.
