Ingredients
- 1 lb (.5 kg). ground beef
- 1 lb (.5 kg). bulk sausage
- salt and pepper
- to taste
- 3/4 cup (175 ml) crumbled corn flakes
- cracker or bread crumbs
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) garlic powder
- 1 onion
- chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) oil
- 5 medium potatoes
- fixed like hashbrowns or shoestring potatoes
Instructions
- Put a large Dutch Oven on a medium heated burner and add the 2 tbsp (30 ml) oil.
- Let it get hot.
- In the mean time, mix together the meat, salt, pepper, crumbs, eggs, garlic powder, and onion throughly and make into a firm round patty.
- Put the patty into the Dutch Oven with the hot oil.
- You should have about 1 to 1 1/2 inch left all around the patty.
- While browning the patty, peel and slice or dice the potatoes and set aside.
- Carefully flip the meat patty over and then add the potatoes around the meat patty.
- Cover the Dutch Oven with the lid and cook on medium-low heat for 50 to 60 Minutes.
- NOTE: You could probably use a 2 lbs (.9 kg).
- bag frozen shredded hashbrowns, but thaw them out first.
