Ingredients
- 1 medium onion
- chopped
- 2 teaspoons garlic
- minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 lbs lean ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 12 cup ketchup
- divided
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 14 teaspoon chili pepper
- 5 teaspoons dried parsley
- 14 teaspoon cumin
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 12 saltine crackers
- crushed
- 20 vegetable crackers
- crushed (I used Kraft Vegetable thins)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a medium sized skillet, warm the oil and add in the garlic and onions.
- Saute until the onions appear clear.
- Set aside.
- In a large bowl combine the remaining ingredients, setting aside one of the 1/4 cups of ketchup.
- Mix just until well combined.
- Add in the sauteed onions and garlic.
- Mix.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and brush the top with the remaining ketchup.
- Bake for about 50 - 55 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer registers 160 degrees.F.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 to15 minutes before slicing.
