Ingredients
- 36 double Saltine crackers (2 c.)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dry dill weed or possibly oregano
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 pt. oysters
- well liquid removed
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Crush crackers and mix crumbs with salt, paprika, and dill weed.
- Divide and place half on two flat plates.
- Beat Large eggs well and add in water.
- Dip each oyster on both sides into one plate of crumbs, then add in egg mix and last into the other plate of crumbs.
- Let stand at least 30 min, chill, to hard crumbs.
- Fry in deep fat (at 365 degrees) till crusty and golden brown.
- Don't over cook.
- Drain and keep hot for serving.
