Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • separated
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 cups milk
  • 1 (8 3/4 ounce) can cream-style corn
  • 12 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Place egg whites in a small bowl; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Combine the milk, corn, egg yolks and oil; stir into dry ingredients just until combined.
  4. Beat reserved egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
  5. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls into a preheated waffle iron; bake according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.
  6. Yield: 16 waffles.
