Ingredients

  • 4-1/2 cups prepared plums (buy about 2 lb./900 g plums)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 7-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 pouch Certo Liquid Pectin

Instructions

  1. Chop (unpeeled) plums finely; place in large saucepan.
  2. Stir in water.
  3. Bring to boil, stirring frequently.
  4. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring frequently.
  5. Measure exactly 4-1/2 cups prepared plums into large saucepan.
  6. Add sugar; mix well.
  7. Bring to full rolling boil on high heat; cook 1 min., stirring constantly.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Immediately stir in liquid pectin.
  10. Stir and skim foam for 5 min.
  11. to prevent fruit from floating to surface.
  12. Pour immediately into warm sterilized jars, filling to within 1/4 inch of rims.
  13. Cover with lids.
  14. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours or until set.
