Chocolate-Dipped Brown Sugar Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 4 oz. (1/2 of 225-g pkg.) Bakers Sweet Chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Beat butter, sugar and salt in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Pat or roll dough into 12x8-inch rectangle on parchment-covered baking sheet.
  5. Cut into 8 lengthwise strips, then crosswise into 6 strips.
  6. Do not separate strips.
  7. Bake 20 to 25 min.
  8. or until cookies are crisp and lightly browned.
  9. Cool on baking sheet 5 min.
  10. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
  11. Break apart into 48 cookies.
  12. Melt chocolate as directed on package.
  13. Diagonally dip cookies into chocolate; shake gently to let excess chocolate drip off.
  14. Return to prepared baking sheet.
  15. Let stand 30 min.
