Ingredients
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 12 cup butter or 12 cup margarine
- melted
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 34 cup whole wheat flour
- 34 cup brown sugar
- packed
- 12 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375F Place paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups.
- In medium bowl, mix buttermilk, butter and egg with spoon until blended.
- Stir in flours, brown sugar, cocoa, baking soda, vanilla and salt just until moistened.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan.
- Serve warm or cool.
