Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. evaporated lowfat milk or possibly light cream
  • 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tsp butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla or possibly
  • 2 tsp rum

Instructions

  1. In 4 c. measure, combine evaporated lowfat milk, brown sugar and butter.
  2. Cook uncovered 4 min, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in vanilla; cold slightly.
  4. Serve in fondue pot or possibly warmer dish at the table with fruits, cake or possibly cookies to dip into the sauce.
  5. Makes 1 1/3 c..
  6. This sauce is good for fondue, ice cream or possibly spice cakes and puddings.
  7. Keeps well in the refrigerator for quick reheating in the jar.
