Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package hot Italian turkey sausage
  • 8 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • uncooked (about 2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 12 cup onion
  • chopped
  • 1 garlic clove
  • minced
  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with basil oregano and garlic
  • undrained
  • 12 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 14 cup fresh basil
  • chopped
  • 1 ounce parmesan cheese
  • shredded (1/4 cup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare sausage links according to package directions.
  2. When cool.
  3. cut into 1/4 inch slices.
  4. Cook rigatoni accordign to package directions.
  5. Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add galic and onions; cook and stir 3 minutes.
  7. Stir in tomatoes in their juice; bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 20 minutes or until thickened.
  9. Slowly add cream; heat 5 minutes.
  10. Stir in basil, cooked pasta and sausage.
  11. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
