Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine
- 1 onion
- finely chopped
- 1 cup bulgar cracked wheat
- 3 cups water or 3 cups beef broth
- salt
Instructions
- Melt 2 Tblsp.
- butter in a large skillet over medium to high heat.
- Add onion, and stirring constantly, fry until soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add bulgar and remaining 2 Tblsp.
- of butter and fry for another minute, stirring constantly to mix well.
- Stir in water or broth, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for about 25 minutes until bulgar is tender.
- Add salt to taste, stir well.
- Serve warm.
