Ingredients
- 2 cube steaks
- (about 3/4 lb.
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
- 1 lrg Onion
- sliced thin
- 1/2 tsp Freshly grated orange zest
- 1 x Garlic clove
- chopped
- 1/3 c. Low-salt beef broth
- 1 1/2 tsp Soy sauce
Instructions
- Pat steaks dry between paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat till warm but not smoking and brown steaks.
- Transfer steaks with tongs to a plate and in drippings remaining in skillet cook onion over moderate heat, stirring, till softened.
- Stir in zest and garlic and cook till fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add in broth, soy sauce, and steaks and simmer, uncovered, till steaks are tender, about 5 min.
- Serves 2.
