Ingredients
- 2 c. whipping cream
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 can sweetened condensed lowfat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. minced nuts (walnuts or possibly pecans)
- 2 c. sugar
Instructions
- Mix cream and lowfat milk together and heat till slightly hot.
- Add in 1/3 of cream mix to heavy 3 qt saucepan.
- Add in corn syrup, sugar and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- When mix is boiling well, add in another 1/3 of cream mix (adding gradually, so boiling doesn't stop).
- Add in remaining cream about 10 min later.
- Gradually add in sweetened condensed lowfat milk.
- Cook to 244-246 degrees.
- Add in vanilla and nuts.
- Pour into buttered 8 inch square pan.
- When cold cut into squares and wrap in plastic wrap.
