Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon
- fried
- 8 ounce. pork sausage
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 green pepper
- 1 med. onion
- 2 tbsp. garlic
- Dash of pepper
- 1 stalk celery
- 16 ounce. can stewed tomatoes
- 8 ounce. can tomato sauce
- 15 ounce. can kidney beans
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp. chili pwdr
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven, brown grnd beef and sausage, add in green pepper, onion and celery and cook till tender.
- Drain drippings.
- Add in garlic, pepper, salt, chili pwdr, tomatoes and tomato sauce.
- Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Simmer for 15 min.
- Add in kidney beans.
- Crumble bacon and add in to chili.
- Simmer for 10 min.
- Just before serving, add in Cheddar cheese and let heat on top.
- Serve with corn bread muffins.
