- 6 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1-1/2 tsp. cracked black pepper
- Herb Butter
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- softened
- 1-1/2 tsp. fresh rosemary
- minced
- 1-1/2 tsp. fresh thyme
- minced
- 1-1/2 tsp. minced garlic
- Sauteed Mushrooms
- 2-1/4 qt. fresh mushrooms
- sliced
- 3 cups bacon

- 1-1/2 cups onions

- Assembly
- 24 each bison patties (140 g each)
- 24 each Kraft Havarti Slices
- 1-1/2 cups port wine
- 24 each hamburger buns
- toasted
- 24 each Boston lettuce leaves
- 24 slices Large tomatoes
- cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
Instructions
- Apple-Dijon Mayonnaise: Mix ingredients until blended.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Herb Butter: Mix ingredients until blended.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Sauteed Mushrooms: Saute mushrooms, bacon and onions in skillet 20 min.
- (or saute 5 min.
- for trlal recipe) or until bacon is crisp and vegetables are golden brown.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- For each serving: Cook 1 meat pattty on oiled grill on medium-high heat 5 to 8 min.
- on each side or until done (165 degrees F/74 degrees C).
- Top with 1 cheese slice; set aside.
- Cook 1/3 cup (75 mL) Sauteed Mushrooms and 1 Tbsp.
- (15 mL) wine in small skillet on medium-high heat 1 min.
- or mushroom mixture is heated through and liquid is cooked off.
- Spread 1 Tbsp.
- (15 mL) Apple-Dijon Mayonnaise onto bottom half of bun; cover with 1 lettuce leaf, 1 tomato slice, cheeseburger and mushroom mixture.
- Spread 1/2 Tbsp.
- (7 mL) Herb Butter onto top half of bun.
- Add to sandwich.
- Secure with skewer.
