Ingredients
- 2 c. beans
- 2 quarts. water
- 2 or possibly 3 smoked ham hocks
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound carrots
- sliced
- 1 onion
- minced
- 1 garlic
- crushed
Instructions
- Put beans in large pot.
- Cover with water and soak overnight.
- When ready to cook, drain beans.
- Add in 2 qts water, ham hocks, garlic and salt.
- Add in 2 qts water, ham hocks, garlic and salt.
- Boil about 1 1/2 hrs.
- Add in remaining ingredients and simmer another 1 1/2 hrs.
- Stir frequently.
- Makes about 10 c..
