Ingredients
- 6 med Yellow onions
- 2 quart Chicken stock
- 3 Tbsp. Butter
- melted
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Freshly grnd pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
- melted
- 1/2 c. Bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/8 tsp Dry thyme
- whole
Instructions
- Peel onions but leave them whole.
- Place the peeled onions in a large pot and add in the chicken stock.
- Bring to a boil, over, and simmer gently for 30 min.
- Carefully drain the onions, reserving the stock for another use.
- Place the onions in a shallow oven proof baking dish so which they fit comfortably.
- Combine the melted butter, paprika, black pepper, salt, and pour the mix over the onions.
- Turn the onions so which they all are coated with the seasoned butter mix.
- Bake in a preheated 400 oven for 15 min.
- Mix together the ingredients for the crumb topping and sprinkle it over the onions and bake for 15 min more.
