Ingredients
- 8 slice bacon
- 10 button mushrooms; medium-thick slices
- 2 clove garlic; minced
- 1 tsp thyme; minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 1 vegetable oil; as needed
Instructions
- Place bacon on a sheet tray and bake at 350 for approximately 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crispy and has rendered it's fat.
- Remove bacon from tray and set aside.
- Pour bacon fat into a large saute pan.
- Add mushrooms.
- Season.
- Saute on high heat for one minute to get a sear.
- Turn heat down to medium.
- Add garlic.
- Saute until garlic is fragrant and mushrooms have caramelized.
- Add oil only if necessary.
- Variations; Flavored bacon, horseradish, parsley, oregano, chives, scallion, mustard, red wine, bourbon, caramelized onions or shallots, roasted bell peppers or garlic
