Ingredients
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. quick oats
- 1/2 c. whole-wheat flour
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. wheat germ
- 2 tsp grated orange peel
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 c. almonds or possibly walnuts
- minced
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. coconut
- 1/2 c. chocolate chips
Instructions
- Blend margarine and 1/2 c. of the brown sugar in a large bowl.
- Beat in oats, flours, wheat germ and orange peel.
- Pat into an ungreased 8 inch square pan.
- In another bowl, mix Large eggs, nuts, raisins, coconut, chocolate chips and remaining 1/4 c. of brown sugar.
- Spread proportionately over mix in pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 35 min.
- Cold, cut into bars and wrap with plastic wrap to keep moist.
