Ingredients

  • 1 c. Butter
  • 1 1/2 c. Brown sugar
  • 1 c. Quick cooking oats
  • 1 c. Whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. White flour
  • 1/2 c. Wheat germ
  • 4 tsp Grated orange peel
  • 4 x Large eggs lightly beaten
  • 2 c. Whole almonds
  • 1 c. Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. Minced dates
  • 1/2 c. Minced dry apricots
  • 1/2 c. Shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cream butter with 1 c. brown sugar.
  3. Stir in oats, wheat flour, white flour,wheat germ, and orange peel.
  4. Press mix into bottom of an ungreased 9 x13-inch baking pan.
  5. Combine Large eggs, almonds, chocolate chips, dates, apricots, coconut and remaining 1/2 c.. brownsugar.
  6. Mix gently, but thoroughly.
  7. Pour over butter mix.
  8. Spread proportionately.
  9. Bake 30-35 min and cold before cutting into bars.
