Ingredients
- 2 lb Small White Onions
- 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly Margarine
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Honey
- 2 Tbsp. Tomato Juice
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/8 tsp Pepper
Instructions
- Cook onions in boiling water till barely tender when pierced (about 15 min).
- Drain and let cold briefly; then trim ends and peel.
- Pour into a shallow 1 1/2 qt baking dish.
- Heat butter in a small pan over medium heat.
- Add in honey, tomato juice, salt, paprika, and pepper; stir till blended.
- Pour over onions.
- Cover and bake at 325F degrees for about 45 min, basting onions several times with sauce (don't stir).
- Uncover and continue to bake, basting occasionally, till sauce is thick on onions are well coated (about 45 more min).
